Appointment of Director of Music

Here you will find information about the vacancy of Director of Music at St Etheldreda's Church, Hatfield.

At St Etheldreda's and St Luke's we value highly the contribution music makes to our worship.

We are seeking an enthusiastic 'team-player' to train our choirs and provide music in support of the liturgy.
St Etheldreda's is a thriving church in the Modern Catholic tradition of the Church of England.
In common with many churches, the last year has been difficult for us musically due to the seemingly ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions. However, by ingenious use of technology and seizing the opportunities for live music-making when allowed, we have been able to provide music for most services throughout the national lockdown(s). That said, it would be fair to say that we are a little rusty when it comes to the general disciplines of singing together.

An important part of our vision for St Etheldreda's and St Luke's is the development of a community outreach programme. As a church we are actively seeking ways to 'leave' our buildings and engage with our local community more, and we believe music can play a significant part in this endeavour. We are very keen that the new Director of Music will share our enthusiasm.
